Music By Numbers

Music By Numbers takes the tediousness out of post-tonal calculations by giving you the ability to instantly calculate matrices and pitch set collections. Moreover, you can select specific Pitch Classes (PCs) on the matrix to either view the pitch set information or to view the set on the PC circle. Music by Numbers also allows users to save their row and set data for easy retrieval.

Practical and Beautiful

This is a practical app for analysis and composition. It is intuitive and provides all the info I want. The ability to move seamlessly from matrix to set theory is helpful in ways I didn't expect! For example, quickly identifying the prime form of a segment of a tone row has sped up the analysis process greatly. I am also thrilled to be able to generate tone rows with fewer than 12 pcs, and to be able to save all my rows and sets. An app for musicians by musicians.
